Non-DnB tunes

Postby Czechnology on Sun Jun 28, 2009 6:01 pm

Even as a DnB lover, I sometimes cross over other great tunes. I'm sure you do too. Let's hear them!

First to present: Parov Stelar from Austria. Something to check:
Chambermaid Swing
Spider
Love
and others...

I think some of it would even serve well for DnB DJs to mix up ;) (yeah, i like DnB with jazzy features)

(btw the performace of the band yesterday was amazing, the crowd went wild! :) )
...from the heart of Europe
Don't drink and bassdrive?

really love his sound too...kinda emo and how do u call it...not sad but uh....u know what i mean..ah...i got it...100% melancholy
Schiller and Heppner. Heppner puts it down. Schiller without Heppner is like Bulls without MJ and Pip.

Morcheeba - any album will do

HooverPhonic - again anything from them will do

Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See and Among My Swan have been getting alot of play lately in my MP3 player. It also is not electronic music.

yum Morcheeba

Massive Attack, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Chicane, Moby, The Roots if you want something to chill to.

José González, Damien Rice, The Verve if you want something depressing or angry but in a relaxing way.

Everyone who hasn't listened to Amy Winehouse's albums Frank or Back to Black REALLY should.

Can't think of anyone else right now.

Oh, check out a french artist called Camille, she sings in french but the music is all sounds she makes with her voice (with the exception of some guitar), awesome if you like quirky stuff and you don't even have to listen to the words they just sound like a melody over the top :)

definitely sage francis, one of the best mcs, also

something more from the hippy-hoppy corner: aesop rock, cannibal ox, El.Pi and the whole Def Jux thing
some crossover: RJD2, sixtoo
Dub: High Tone
other electronica: leftfield, boards of canada
and of course the blues legends: skip james, son house, blind willie johnson, j.b. lenoir
(and even rock: wolfmother)

puuh, sorry for that, it just had to be said :)
