Best Sounding Sample Packs!!!

making beats from scratch v. using loops has been debated for years now. the fact is, no matter what you come up with, someone prolly already has made the same beat just by pure coincidence. so it becomes a matter of efficiency. no one should use a loop w/o making it "their beat" somehow using variety of means anyways. why spend all that time making beats from scratch when its just being redundant? i would nvr feel like a producer is slacking or less skilled cuz they use loops. just more efficient.

yeah ive heard alot of ppl argue about that
i agree with most ppl that u shouldn cheat and built ur own libraries of loops and reuse them as much as you want, but u shouldn use a loop if u r not aware how to create it urself if u had to.

obviously its sort of pointless to start making an amen from scratch but u know thats how new ideas might come around

Hey beatchemist I'm curious as to what sample packs you use, I love the percussion work in all your tunes.

To be more specific I'm talking about single hits for snares, kicks, hi-hats etc.

If you use Reason refills, do you know if they'll work for any other DAW. Are they simply zipped wavs or is it far more complicated?

Anyone have any thoughts on the Danny Byrd and Syncopix sample packs from Hospital? At £24.95 each I'm thinking of getting one or both...

I have a lot of samples in my collection from trawling over the years, but they're all pretty average in terms of quality.

the danny byrd is ight for startin your own drum hit samples. of course samples need alot of tweaking but its a good start for some nice sounds.

Must agree there, DB sample packs are great. I only have Vol. 2 right now. I was lacking tambourine's and Danny Byrd's pack has a few. I also like Nu-Tone's, they've got great shuffles.

The snares are a great starting point in both packs, I must say I thought the Vengeance packs had great snares but these fit WAAAAY better especially for liquid and such.

The Nu-Tone has some great piano and rhodes loops. I think Stunna even used one of those piano loops in one of his tunes.

But yeah so far I must say Hospital's packs are solid, they don't have nearly as much samples as the Vengeance packs but they make up for that with sheer awesomeness. Also, Hospital's are reasonably priced too.

Yeah I couldn't place my finger on the tune, I knew it was a BD regular's. The particular sample I'm thinking of was actually in one of your tunes lol, Document 1. Melancholy Piano I believe is what the sample's called.

Document 1 is one of my favorites from you, I feel silly for not figuring it out earlier. Someone slap me.

Same with all the hospital packs, dunno about bop's though. But we should only be taking the main hits and not entire loops haha

They give away free samples and advice when you need it.
I like Nu:Tone's pack though.

Loops are fantastic for taking individual hits and sounds from.

Atmospheric samples are dope too. Check out loopmasters or as many music magazines as you can, you can find some gold in them!
