Sup!

I use Cubase 3sx, I would like to upgrade but keep talking myself out of the outlay!
Fav Vsti's are: Absynth, Zeta, EZDrummer, Atmosphere, Lizard lounge.

Sometimes I rewire reason, If it has a patch that I can't get at otherwise.

Reason is better rewired IMO, the audio engine in cubase is better than reasons'. Just think of reason as a bunch of Vsti's when rewired. :D

Reason is only usefull when rewired. I even have the midi patterns in Cubase. So all i use reason for is a big VST with modular sound sources.
Then add external Instruments, put everything to the mixer and vòila you can start to work :)

Never liked Reason because it doesn't support plug-ins.

Komatic wrote:I use Reason Rewired with Logic. but I agree with Calculon, you've got to find whatever you feel most comfortable with.

Reason gets used for pretty much the entire tune, and then I use all of Logic's processing to tidy up the sound

This is pretty much how I make my tunes as well, but instead of Logic I work with Reason re-wired to Cubase. Though my computer is a little too slow to work effectivley like that, I do it as much as I can.

And I'll second the motion of "what you feel like is the best or you", simply because there really isn't much difference between the different DAW's when it comes to export-quality.
When i was studying sound, we compared Cubase and PT, noone could hear any real difference.
What does differ is the VST/digidesigns plugs (cant remember what the format is called). and im sure it will differ more when you get the really really heavy studio-versions of PT, but meh, that's like a couple of million away from my reach, and a couple of years of knowledge too...

Runnin' Cubase SX3 and FL8 here. Always switch over to FL though. Seems to be the quickest way from my head to my speakers.

Haven't had/taken the opportunity to give Reason a go yet...

I'm with Bladezor too. NI's Massive is pretty good. Yeah, it's pricey, but worth it imo... Pretty easy to use.

Reason is great if you're a gearhead because it just makes sense. I love the ability to chain instruments and the combinators they added in v3 almost made up for the lack of VST support.

I'm back to hardware again as of this year and I'm sequencing on my RM1x and using a triton and EMX1 for synth/sample/drum duty.
Either that or I'll use logic to control my gear, save the track to midi and load it onto my sequencer.

I use FL Studio 8 for sequencing and mixing at the moment. But later I want to use also Cubase for mixing. I render the layers in FL the mixing them in Cubase :D

Or maybe I'll go to my friend who using Logic..

Reason rewired into logic. Reason for drums, logic for synthesis and sequencing, the vsts in logic rock, and the drum machines and rex player in reason are sick and easy to use. As far as NI I like massive a little for grimey bass reeses, but it is very crashy so i hardly use it. FM8 is also nice for pattern sequencing.
